Drought is an important factor affecting germination and early growth and plant growth rate and decreases economic performance due to lower initial deployment. Thus use of seed priming or pre-treatment of seeds induce homogenize germination, emergence and increase the rate of growth and reduce the adverse environmental effects and subsequently produce high yields.،This technology facilitates the early rise and establishment of the plant.Therefore, in order to study on the effect of drought stress and seed priming on some traits of vegetative and reproductive of castor bean (Ricinus communis ), an experiment was set up as a split plat with randomized complete block design with three replications at 30 km of north in the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center of West Azerbaijan, Urmia in Saetlo station at 2013. The main factor were included drought stress with four levels (60, 90, 110 and 130 mm pan evaporation) and four seed priming treatments included control, hydro-priming, salicylic acid and hydrogen peroxide, were sub plot. Results of variance analysis showed that the drought stress was significantly effects on plant height, 1000 seed weight, grain yield, oil yield and grain harvest index. Seed priming had significantly effects of dry matter plant height, 1000 seed weight, grain yield, oil yield and harvest index. Interaction between water stress and priming treatments was significantly effects on grain yield. Considering the comparison of mean values, it was observed that in the traits of plant height, 1000-seed weight, grain yield, oil yield and harvest index, 60-mm treatment of evaporation from the pan was the highest. Seed priming were effected of the all traits and salicylic acid treatment was able to receive the highest amount of all traits. The highest grain yield and 1000 grain weight were related to the interaction of 60 mm evaporation from the evaporation pan and priming with salicylic acid. The greatest amounts in oil of treatments were assigned to irrigation with 60 mm of pan evaporation. The highest oil of treatments was assigned to priming with salicylic acid.
